Inclusive Judo for People with Special Needs

Inclusive Judo for People with Special Needs

Inclusive Judo is designed for people with special needs who want to develop their motor skills, self-confidence, and social skills through judo. Training is adapted to each individual's abilities and needs. Through judo, we develop coordination, balance, flexibility, strength, and independence, and an important part of training is also developing self-confidence, discipline, persistence, and emotional regulation. In the field of inclusive judo, we are leaders in Slovenia, and with the help of professional staff we successfully run a program that gives people with special needs access to quality sports training, personal development, and inclusion in the wider community. We place special emphasis on competitive development, where our judokas achieve notable national and international medals every year, a result of their effort, persistence, and professional coaching. Judo allows individuals to overcome their own challenges through movement, gain new experiences, and develop a sense of achievement. In our club we create a safe and encouraging sporting environment in which every individual can progress according to their abilities and reach their personal goals.

Judo Kindergarten

Judo Kindergarten

Judo Kindergarten is designed for the youngest children, who take their first steps into the world of judo through play and movement. The training is adapted to their age and is based on play, movement, and building a positive relationship with sport. Children develop basic motor skills, coordination, balance, flexibility, spatial orientation, and a sense of safe movement. Through simple judo exercises, they also learn the basics of safe falling, cooperating with a partner, and respecting others. Special emphasis is placed on developing self-confidence, independence, persistence, and discipline. The goal of Judo Kindergarten is to introduce children to sport in a pleasant and fun way and to create a good foundation for further athletic and personal growth.

Little Judo School

Little Judo School

Little Judo School is designed for children who want to build on their first movement experiences with the basics of the sport of judo. Training still takes place through play, but children gradually also learn the basic rules and techniques of judo. In training we develop coordination, balance, flexibility, strength, and speed, and teach children correct and safe movement. They learn the basic techniques of falling, moving on the mat, judo grips, and the first throwing techniques. An important part of training is also learning cooperation, respecting your partner, following the rules, and developing sportsmanship. Alongside physical abilities, children also develop self-confidence, responsibility, and persistence.

Continuing and Competitive Judo

Continuing and Competitive Judo

Continuing and Competitive Judo is designed for young judokas who already know the basics of judo and want to systematically build on their knowledge. Training includes refining judo techniques, combinations, counterattacks, and sparring situations. We also place a strong emphasis on developing speed, strength, flexibility, endurance, and coordination, as well as the gradual development of an individual competitive style. Judokas who choose competitive judo prepare for performances at domestic and international competitions. Alongside technical and physical preparation, we also develop mental resilience, self-confidence, discipline, and the ability to handle both successes and setbacks. Our goal is the long-term development of the judoka – both athletically and personally.
